Set in the context of France's laïcité,  Marianne follows seven French Muslim women from different walks of life reclaiming their narrative away from the stereotypes and one-brush strokes they have to contend with from French media and politicians.

In a time when secularism in France is increasingly becoming intolerant,, Leïla, Saima, Narimène, Hanane, Caroline, Maïmouna and Emmanuelle prompt viewers to reevaluate their own preconceptions about feminism, identity, and the true essence of liberty.

Beyond France, their experience echoes the experience of Muslim women across the world.
